Caregiving & End of Life Planning & Support

LOTUS PASSAGES
Compassion, patience and care at the end of life.

WHAT IS A DEATH DOULA?
A death midwife, or death doula, is a person who assists in the dying process, much like a midwife or doula does with the birthing process. They help families cope with death and can supplement and go beyond hospice. They can perform a large variety of non-medical service, including but not limited to creating death plans, facilitating family conversations, caregiving, sitting vigil and providing spiritual, psychological, and social support before and just after death. Their role can also include more logistical activities such as helping with services, planning funerals and memorial services, creating legacy projects and much more. Each death doula is different and offer varying services or specialities.

END OF LIFE DOULA SERVICES
Caregiving at a sacred time of life.
Caring for the dying is a sacred honor. Working alongside family and medical and hospice staff, I can fill in the gaps to assist family in caring for their loved ones' physical needs, provide respite care, sit in vigil, and continue to support family and friends after death.
